Default s2k replacement

sup s2ki fam,

Well after a lot of thought, I have decided on an s2000 replacement:

[criteria needed to be met]

- gas saver/reliable (for dd)
- somewhat fun (can't stand boring commute after s2k)
- preferably manual (past cars, all 5spd)
- cabin/trunk at least as "spacious" as an s2000
- clean title (for insurance, possible re-sale)
- easy to work on (for self-maintenance/repairs)
- good condition/low miles (need to keep "forever")
- preferably <14k
- mostly stock

[potentials I was seriously looking at]

- bmw e30 (but high mileage, fit & finish)
- motorcycle w/ sidecar (but batman & robin look)
- 04+ tl type-s (but rare, one found, salvage title)
- honda cbr 600/1000 rr (but want to live)
- civic si/integra type-r (but theft magnet)
- lexus is300/sc300 (but v6/v8)
- mazda speed3/rx7/rx8 (but reliability)
- toyota mr2 (but cabin too small)
- nissan 300zx tt (but v6 turbo, predator engine)
- geo metro convertible (but GEO METRO CONVERTIBLE)

[choice that met all criteria above except one]

another s2000, AP1 GPW, the unicorn! but price is ~20k. IYHO, is it "worth it"? What would you do?

Thanks in advance!

peace

You only live once. Get what you will enjoy the most. Just don't hate yourself for the lack of versatility when you get another S.

There are still good 2nd gen RSX-S exmples out there.

30+MPG highway, roomy (compared to the S2K), takes well to mods, reliable. Far less chance of theft compared to 90's/early 00's civics/integras

I second the RSX-S nomination. You could also throw the 240, Del Sol, and Celica on the list. There's also the SRT4, Focus SVT, and Golf if you don't mind driving a car that didn't come from the land of the rising sun.

8th gen Civic Si. Four door, only weighs 40 more pounds than the coupe.

Stay away from the Z. They are really only good if you like to be under the hood all the time replacing parts. Check out the lexus sc300 they have a 2jz engine in them

- Fiat 500
