S2K VS C5/C6
can't wait for my arch nemas vette buddy's to get there hands on this.
hahaha
the vette will murder us on a track MURDER, and straight line as well you have zero chance at all.
Bottom line your S is not even coming close to a vette.

I don't know all the specifics and junk but being I own both and drive both..... The S will dust the C6 in autocross!

Before you ask, I have done FTDs in a S2000 and I would NOT race a C6 for big money in autox unless I know the driver is a total NOOB!
I've gone against a C5 straight line from 40mph.. it wasn't pretty.. on the drag strip, i know it won't be close, or shouldn't be given stock for stock.. even on the autox, i'm sure the straight aways is where the c6 (or c5) would run away, but i'm talking strictly on the turns..

A local S2000 traded his S for a C6. Him, a current Elise driver (used to own S2000 as well) and current Miata driver all drove the car at the last autocross. The Elise and Miata guy both said the car shrank during their runs. In other words it does not have that heavy, boat-ish feel you'd think it does. They were both impressed.
In R&T's March '05 sports car comparison test, in which the S2000 actually did quite well, the C6 bested in in every performance category, including skidpad/slalom. The S2000 was slower the entire track test as well, except for one section. And the C6 still had the higer average speed, it just took longer to complete the section. Probably the driver didn't take as good a line.

More to the point, the C5 should not even be in this comparison. It is a very nice car but does not compair well with either. The C6 obviously handles very well especially with the sport suspension. However, it is not near as light or nimble as the S and would have to use its greater HP and torque to make up the difference, if it can.
Firstly, what does "outhandle" mean? Handling is a subjective criterion.
If you mean which will get around a track faster, there is no comparison -- all things being equal (e.g. no one's on M+S tires), any C5 or C6 Vette will crush an S2000 on an open track. The same goes for autocrosses -- the Vette can't use its power advantage to the same degree, but it's still faster than the S2000 by a wide margin. Even the base C5 that people are talking smack about was the fastest car in Super Stock back in 2000, back when the S2000 was the fastest car in A Stock, the next class down.

Guys,
How does the S compare with the c5/c6 vettes? obivouosly horspower/acceleration are obvious, but I'm more concerned with handling features. I was thinking that they were pretty equal in that category.. am I wrong in thinking so?
Thanks
