Default S2k vs M3

Could a SC'd S2k keep up with a M3?

umm, an E46 is what I'm guessing you are referring to and what performance category are you referring too. 1/4, road course, autox, top speed. all these factors would play a part in the outcome of which is faster. There is a BM video of a race between the M3, S2k, 350Z, and Porsche Boxster.

no, not an E46 M3...they are heavier, but it's an incredible machine.

I'm guessing yes (if not beat an E46 M3), at least once rolling.

Yes, it can. From the data the M3 runs a low 13 sec. 1/4 mi.. In the Car & Driver article with the modded japanese cars it ran faster than the Z06 in 1/4 mi. times (that is a 12.4-12.6 sec. car), but not in total lap time. I have seen a non-aftercooled Comptech run with an SLK 32 which can easily match fenders with an M3. The aftercooled cars are substantially faster than the non-aftercooled early versions.
