Default It Says this is a 1997 Type R?

http://www.m-rrebuildables.com/carpics/002822.htm

It looks like the body of a Type R (no sunroof, painted rockerpanels, etc...).... but it has 4 lug's on the wheels.? doesn't it.

thanks

Scot

ps...they only want $2900 for the car, so I thought if it had the suspension/brakes and shell in tact, that may be ok.

Looks like a base model Integra to me, but then again, I am not an Integra expert.

I'm not expert either, but here are a few things I know:
1. Third brake light is inside (instead of on the wing). I believe this is a Type R thing.
2. No rear wiper. Also Type R thing.

So far it looks like this is (was?) a Type R.

I know there's a year where they didn't make Type Rs. Was this 97? or was it 99?

That is also a Type R exhaust, and if you look and the trunk lid there was a Spoiler back there. Plus all the above mentioned.

i got a reply back from the guy.... it is a 1997 Type R, but............. the suspension/brakes has been swapped.... (and of course the engine stolen)....

not a bad deal at $2700 i suppose..... but just a Type R swap is $4500+ (plus installation).....

It sure looks like a Type R. I can tell it's a 97 because of the front bumper and rear bumper design. You'll also notice that the side moldings are gone, that's another trait of the Type R (although someone could have gone through the trouble of shaving the moldings).

The reason why the car is sitting on 4 lug hubs is because when thieves take the Type R, that is one of the most coveted items; the entire suspension actually.

Someone also mentioned no rear wiper. That's another sign that this car is a legit R shell. Type Rs didn't have a rear wiper in 97, but 98 (strange disappearance for 99) 00, and 01 all had the rear wiper. Hope this info helps.

Used to have a Type R and man could she RUN. But I was getting tired of worrying about the car's well being all the time, so I traded in for the S. Good luck with it!

They even stole the "Type-R" emblems? Damn.
