Doesn't look like it to me. Look at the lines of the C pillar on the yota compared to the chevy.

The chevy, however, resembles a neon to me.

AFAIK, the Chevy Cobalt uses the (I think) Sigma platform from GM with the Ecotec I4.

The Scion Tc uses (again, I think) a modified Corolla/Celica platform with the base Camry I4 engine.

That new cobalt is supposedly a great improvement over its predecesor. (the cavalier). GM spent a buttload of money and r and d time to get this one right. They have lost soooo much ground to the japanese, they wanted to do this one right. I have to say, this car looks nice, and with the supposed SS version putting up more than 200horses, i can't say they aren't getting something right!

I think both of these cars are nice. They both have fairly large four cylinders (2.4L) and should be good cars overall. I think I would go with the Tc. The Tc is supposed to have a TRD blower option soon. The Cobalt SS with have a blown 2.4L Ecotec from the factory making 200hp as Anrosphynx said.

GM did spend many bucks on the Cobalt. I'm not sure I like the name, but the fact that they've FINALLY decided to put the Cavalier successor on a brand new and far more rigid platform is a good sign. Hopefully it'll handle well and go accordingly.

No. And the Cobalt is based on the "Delta", same as the Ion and Opel Astra.

gust again Toyota team up with GM and they share ideas. like the old Corollas and geos. and the older malibu like 97s i think look like the corollas 98. and the matrix body was made by Toyota and the interior was made by GM. oh any one more thing the GM Cavalier was sold under toyota too.
