That Volvo C30 is ugly. The interior is absolutely horrible. I'm not a huge Volvo fan.

The interior is fresh, if anything, but if you look at a Mini interior and a C30 interior, you defiitely have to non-conventional interiors, but I think the Volvo's is more upscale and classy while the Mini's is more retro and fun.
Well I guess I shouldn't complain too much about the interior, it's not like our S2000 interiors are anything to be proud of. It's pretty much plain looking and outdated. But that's typical Honda, good engineering, ahead of the curve but the looks department is always bringing up the rear. They keep there look too long. In my opinion Honda needs a huge revamping in the styling department.
i like the volvo, but i thought you could get up to ~$30k for a nicely equipped one. do they cost a lot more than the mini?
my mother has a mini cooper, and she likes it. one of my co-workers bought a cooper s, and he has nothing but positive things to say.
the resale value is (or at least was) very good, and their handling is great. if you like the 'funky' looks and see the intended fun in the car's quirks, it's a great buy. if its annoying to you, get something else.

Mini's get expensive to fix when things start to go. I know a lot of people rave about them, but having driven a handful of them in various trims I don't see what's the big deal. But like I always say to other people, they make different cars for different people, if we all drove the same car life would be boring.
I don't know if the Altima is in the same price range but I would look at that if you don't like the civic. Also the new Accord is a phenomenal car, and not too much more then a nicely equipped civic.
