MPG = Miles per Gallon = Miles / Gallons

0 Miles / 0 Gallons = 0 MPG.
I see what you're saying.

But my logic-minded brain has to shoot it down. You can't divide by zero. Which I guess makes your equation "undefined"

Egads you are right. I thought 0 divided by any number other than itself would be an irrational #, yet 0 divided by 0 equals 0.

But I was wrong.

Either way, it still proves my point that owning a Hummer H1 and never driving it will still give you worse gas mileage than an S2000... unless you did the only logical thing, which was to not start the engine and roll it down a hill... (preferably into a compactor).

Then your MPG would be much better.

EDIT--> then again, atleast one other person stated that "zero divided by zero is zero"

here--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_by_zero

i think that people forget that in certain areas of the world you need a SUV for your day to day activities. I live in city where i am surrounded by 100lbs moms in huge lifted trucks and suv's. i hate that.

but i could see that pedro or juan would need one. i am not worried about it.

but one thing that bill pionted out is that we are running out of gas. if you havent noticed why all of a sudden have most manufactures start making "cleaner" "more MPG" cars. hi thats because our fossil fuels will be gone in the next 10-15 years. if we continue to use them the way we are

one thing that puzzles me is that why the hell are we still using OLD ass technology on cumbustion engines that is well over 100 years old. i mean we have computers in our phones, digital this, wireless that. but we still use tech that is well out dated. why ??? easy $$$ for us to spend.

sooner or later they will have to release those cars they came out with 50 years ago that get 100 mpg, never need tires and or tune ups....

This is an appropriate thread to bump. With gas prices much higher than they were in 2006, let's hear what people are saying now about SUVs.

Can I bump it again? Fuel is cheap and has been for a while. I am chugging diesel in my 3/4 ton, alone, with no load, all winter long!

Here in PA we're getting hit with ANOTHER $.08 / gallon tax. We're almost back to $3 / gallon again for Super / Premiuim.
