give me reason why i should go with lexus when i can get a ferrari instead?
(when i can afford a $200k+ car, do i really care about the maintenance cost and such?)

If it has Ferrari/Lambo performance + Lexus reliability and you can drive it everyday and not have to worry about putting too many miles on it then it will be worth the money. I don't think it looks like $200,000 though.

Because its not like every other ferrari or lambo. It does the same job and not everyone will have one. Nissan has proven that japanese engineering can provide the same performance as the european counterparts. Do you not think a company the size of Toyota wouldn't have the resources to do the same? This isn't going to be some scion where the enthusiasm of motoring will be watered by the mass production filter. This is the company's crown jewel. Also, everyone has their own taste. just because you have the money for a fine watch, would you go clamoring to the nearest Rolex store?
Lexus competes well with M3 b/c of similar price point. I don't see it beating a Ferrari.
It might sell as well as the NSX in 2006 at $200K+

people who buy $200K+ car cares about heritage and pedigree. Right now, LF-A doesn't have any.
