That's a small price to pay for having the most beautiful interior ever created in the history of the automobile.
Then again, 9k RPM FTMFW.

For $20,000 more you can get a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.... made by a company that makes nothing but super cars.

I agree, it's a great looking interior - but the problem is that EVERY TINY LITTLE BIT OF DIRT WILL SHOW.
Then again, 9k RPM FTMFW.

This car is beautiful, very Aston Martin-esque!
Toyota/Lexus is laughing at those who are doubting or had ever doubted them. Needless to mention their worldwide success, but hey, aren't they dominating in NASCAR too? Everyone doubted and laughed at them when they first entered NASCAR.

I don't think anyone has said that it's not going to be an outstanding sports car. It will be. It's just at $200k+, it's going to be competing against some very stiff competition for the rich people's buck. If it's a halo car for Toyota, then they probably won't care if they don't sell very many, which may the whole point for selling it at a very high price.

And I suspect there are more rich people around than the production capabilities of Ferrari, Lambo, and these Lexuses can handle anyway. So sales will happen. And I agree Toyota probably doesn't care about numbers too much.
The other point is we're having a whole discussion (fun though it's been) based on conjecture (yes, I know, stunning ). We don't know for sure it's $225K yet, right?

Looks like an Aston Martin product, not a super car.
Lexus is claiming this car will have super performance, even besting the GT-R around the 'Ring, and we all know how impressive that is considering the GT-R is the fastest of all production cars around the 'Ring in history, besting exotics and supercars such as Zonda, CGT, etc. By all definition, the LF-A will be a supercar and no less.
Look at where the redline starts - 9K, and fuel cutoff is probably closer to 10K. V10 revving to almost 10K...that, right there, is very F1-like.
Oh, some of you are very right in saying this is Toyota's halo car. Toyota is not making this car for profit but as a halo car, hence they'd be happy with selling just a few, making it more rare and cherished. The high price proves that they do not want a profit-making sports car but a rare upscale halo supercar. Their Camrys, Corollas, etc. are taking care of the profit-making.
In all my years of looking at car interiors, I've never seen one more beautiful than this.
