As for the thought that it might be a sleeper, I won't think so. The basic 914 may not be fast but it looks fast to those who don't know any better, thus not a sleeper in my book.

That Ford crew cab F350 Powerstoke that did an 11.42s 1/4 mile (118mph trap) is a true sleeper!

I thought of another hybrid - it's not super quick, but it'll definitely surprise someone.

1998-2002 Honda Accord with an H22A (Prelude engine) swap with a lot of bolt-ons and tuning (240 whp) or else go with a supercharger or turbo for even more. Yeah, it's FWD, but for straightline speed (especially from a roll), it'll be pretty quick. Get a base model and you're talking about 2850 lbs and 240+ whp.
