Snowpocalypse in the S2000
A few years ago (or less?) we had an amazing run of snow in Denver wherein it snowed a ton then it ****** snowed every weekend for a couple of months adding to the misery.
At the time I lived on a street that I did not see for 3 months or so -- full of nasty ice potholes.
Being the idiot I am I decided the S2000 would take me to the airport at 6:30AM. I made it out of my alleyway and onto the street whereupon the first ice hole I hit stranded me.
Luck was upon me though -- a UPS truck rolled up and with the S2000 in first gear, driver door open both of us together managed to rock it out of the hole at which point I shouted a thanks, jumped in the car and proceeded to drive it back into my garage. S2000 and snow ... no.

Chains are for amateurs. I drove my S in Wisconsin winters for two years rolling on a set of Nokian Hakkapeliittas. Never spun out once and drove through some pretty serious snow falls.

I doubt just about ANY car can get through a couple of feet of snow let alone a RWD lightweight s2000

There's a little thing called "ground clearance."I'm not knocking the guy driving around DC after a big snow, but I'm not impressed either since my parking lot looks worse than those roads right now.
But lots of people wouldn't dream of driving an S2000 with snow on the ground so compared to them, this guy is brave. Compared to what a lot of other people drive in the winter, not so much.

Back home (Canada) I remember driving an NA Miata through 18+ inches of snow. The trick was to keep your speed up so you could plow through snow deeper than your ground clearance. Getting into driveways was one of the harder parts. But a good set of winter tires and a little know-how and it wasn't much problem.
