Default Solstice GXP

Has anyone driven one? what were your impressions? It's tough for me to like a Pontiac much, they haven't exactly excited me the last decade... but the thought of a 2dr RWD roadster with a TURBO sounds extremely appealing. I'd imagine with a little more boost and a good coilover setup it could be an interesting drive.

Haven't driven a GXP, but I drove a base Solstice. My main feeling was that it "drove big" like American cars tend to; it seemed a lot bigger than it actually is. It was a not unpleasant drive, but I got the distinct feeling that it was sorta aimed at people who's idea of "enthuasiast driving" was looking good on the way to the ice cream shop with the top down. More toward the '05 Ford Thunderbird end of the scale than the Corvette ZO6 end. Now, apparently the Solstice is very capable on a race or auto-x course, but it didn't seem to LIKE it, or urge you to go fast. More of a "oh, you want to go around a corner? Sure, I guess" than a "Hey, let's attack these curvies!" feeling. Maybe the GXP is different, I dunno, but that was my feeling about the base model.
