Special Prices!
Here are the European Delivery Prices for the BMW 1 series coupe!! Also, the online configurator went up yesterday at bmwusa.com Its slow because everyone and their mother is on it.
BMW 135i: $32,455 vs U.S. msrp of 35,600
BMW 128i: $26,600 vs U.S. msrp of 29,375
Keep in mind that these are the MSRP for European Delivery and ARE negotiable. They are not the wholesale price of the vehicle.
"BMW's European Delivery program allows car buyers to save a significant amount of money by picking up their vehicle at the company's delivery center in Munich, Germany, and then drive it in Europe for 14 days (or as long as six months with add-on insurance and registration). BMW then ships it as a "used" vehicle, thereby avoiding the steep duties usually levied against imported cars."
"The MSRP of a bare-bones 2006 BMW 325i is $30,900. The wholesale price of the same BMW 325i ordered through the European Delivery program is $26,150. That's a heavy discount."
Very important:
Find a dealer willing to negotiate from European Delivery wholesale, not European Delivery MSRP
Edmunds did a test drive of the European Delivery program. Check it out. I know 4 people that have done it more than once with great sucess. I have no intentions of paying more than 33k for my twin-turbo BMW. I have no problems signing for it in Munich.

how much to ship it back and taxes?
the cost includes shipping it from Europe to your local dealership... including shipping insurance while on ship/in transit...
they even give you 15 days of driving insurance for driving around on European roads and 2 nights hotel ... and theres a bunch of cities you can drop the car off all over Europe...

I dont plan on spending more than 2 days over there. I would totally end up offset my savings. Definitely thinking about breaking her in on the autobahn. Luthuania offers a 2 for 1 flight plan. Best time to go would be going winter for the best deals.
but, the "best" deal is if your planning on a mini-European vacation... that way, even the plane-fare and time spent is part of a greater value... i say take a drive south through Switzerland into Italy... beautiful drive... IMO, the Italian AutoStrada offers smoother roads than many parts of the Autobahn... Its also a lot less cold and less snow in Italy...
