I wonder what tires they'll use for that speed? I don't know of any conventional rubber that will hold up to that...

80's interior. Reminds me on the Lotus and Lambo interiors of the 80's.

IF it actually gets past the Bugatti then the Veyron's engineers will just raise the electronic speed limiter and go hit a higher speed. I wouldn't be surprised if that cheap looking thing flew apart above 230mph.

I read a different press release somewhere. There is no connection to Carroll, just a name coincidence. Is that closed down stretch of Elko county a part of the Silver State Classic route?

The other twist to this is that the Koenigsegg team is focused on beating the Veyron's numbers as well. I think Koenigsegg was targeting 261mph as their theoretical top end.

So, really, SSC has two competitors, and both have much more engineered efforts, greater name recognition, better styling, numbers in the books as world records, etc.

I really don't want to sound like a hater, but that's the situation. If SSC pulls this off, they'll have mad respect overnight. It behooves them and their business model not to screw this up.
