Default starting issue

so my girlfriends 2003 jeep grand cherokee just started acting up. It trys to start just fine it just doesnt fire the first time.....its does not lose power while trying to turn over or anything , reminds me of a diesel truck in the morning, we have to turn the key fully off and then do it again and then it starts, but it seems we have to hold it a second longer than we use to before ...........this is any time we try and start it,.....not just the first time of the day.
I did a google search and it does not seem to be bad gas, lose battery connection, anything like that,...appears to be an ignition issue i think. There are no check engine lights or anything. The starter has not done the grinding sound ever of a bad starter either. Any help is appreciated.

Go somewhere and get your electrical checked out (battery, starter, and alternator). Sears does it for free I think. At least if anything you can rule those out real quick.

Change the plugs. Make sure you gap them properly prior to installation. And you might get new plug wires while you are at it.

Depending on what engine is in it, most likely its the rotor and cap, but probably needs plugs and wires replaced as well.

Does a 2003 Grand Cherokee even have a conventional cap and rotor? I don't know. My car doesn't even have plug wires to replace, so the only thing to do for a "tune-up" is replace the plugs and just make sure everything is hooked up properly and clean.
