stealth? 3000gt?
i see 3000gt's and the dodge stealths are they the same. im guessing they have same engine etc. but wtf did doge steal mitsu's car or something? 've seen alot of talk about these two cars and that sort of thing. but i was never quite surewat was wat. so can someone clearify
this should be in car talk. No they were a colloborations of sorts, hence DSM diamond star motors when they did the laser, eclipse and talon. The stealth was just another step of the 3000gt .
Exact same cars just diff designs in body style. Both can be had pretty cheap now adays 15 year old cars, but the stealth can be had for very very cheap. I think if you go 3ksi.com or something you can learn some stuff.

As a previous owner of a Stealth, maybe I can help. Both the 3000gt & the Stealth (All except exterior) were made in Nagoya, Japan... the 3000gt was imported straight to U.S., the Stealth came to the U.S. then Dodge designed their own exterior (which was very close to the 3000gt). The same engine, transmission, twin-turbos, AWD system. The only significant difference there is, is that the 3000gt actually offered a convertible (Spyder) version of their VR4(twin-turbo). Dodge worked with Mitsubishi on the Stealth.
The Mitsu/Dodge relationship goes back even farther then the Talon/Eclipse/Laser. Anyone remember the Starion/Conquest? The Dodge Colt was also a Mistu product.
This is not unusual with manufacturers......The 2000 Chevy Prizm is really a reskinned Toyota Corolla....etc etc
The Mitsu had "active aero" parts. The Stealth did not. At speed, the front lip lowered and the rear wing changed angle of attack using solenoids. The Spyder was custom done after the car got to N. America by a shop contracted by Chrysler. I think it was in California.

Everyone has hit most the details already. One thing to remember is that the Stealths were lighter than the 3kGT's which can be good from a performance aspect. Mitsu and Chrysler are still working together in fact...Eclipse and Stratus have the same chassis and drivetrain.

it has the 420a like the DSMs.
