Default STi to a S2000?

Hey all,
I'm considering swapping my new 2004 STi (3k miles) for an 04 S2000. This is my weekend car and I dont do alot of racing etc but I like to go corner/have fun when I can.

Has anyone done this? I know there are some that own both (STi and S2000) and I used to own a MKII MR2 turbo (about 250rwhp with a TD06) and I understand the S2000 feels close to the MR2. Anyway I think I need something with a nicer interior but also "peppy". I know the S2000 dynos about 200rwhp and about 160lb's (?) torque but I cannot locate an S2000 to test drive (dealerships either dont have them or wont let me test drive them) but I like the feel of my old MR2 and think the STi is a bit much for me (considering I drive it like an old lady) minus the "nice" interior.

Anyone here swap from the S2000 to the STi or the other way around?
What was the impression? Anyone want to discuss this? (I realize i'm on the S2k boards but I know people can be pretty non-bias when they need to )

Roadster for power? Brute for finess?
I really like the STi but dont feel its the car for me for some reason... I just wish I could find someone that wants to drive an STi so I can check out an S2000 This is alot harder than you think!

I haven't done this, BUT I have driven a Forester Turbo and it was a lot of fun with that motor. The S2000 is a pure sports car, the STI isn't something I would consider a fun weekend car. More like a daily driver that kicks ass.

But for pure driving pleasure, it's really hard to beat the S2000.

I think you'll be disappointed in the S2000's power stepping out of an STi, but that's not to say it's less of a car, it just rewards in different ways.

I have both also, and while both cars are fun, they are totally different. If I had to pick one though, the S2000 would be the car I keep.

Hey all,
Thanks for the comments. The power difference isnt something I'll cry over, I switch vehicles all the time and can understand what makes one car different than another. But I still want to drive one to see what its like and how it handles the cruising etc.

The STi is a different beast but I think the S2k may offer me more of what I'm looking for, i wont know until I drive it though.

And why the negetive image tward the MR2? I cant imagine being upset over the comparison?? Did I miss something? (I said MKII not spyder)

Oh yeah, do any years have an adjustable/tilt steering wheel?
The one I sat it did not seem to be able to adjust the wheel unless I missed a lever/button somewhere.

Thanks

my apologies, thought it was a spyder you were referring to, being that they are both convertibles. the spyder is a great car in its own right, but its an entirely different animal from the S. oh, and i also just found that tag and thought it was cool. i have been dropping them all over s2ki...

i have no experience with the turbo mkII, but my guess is that its only similarities to the S are size and power to weight ratio... the turbo should have a totally different personality from the high revving VTEC in the S.

have you checked out this thread regarding mr2 and the S?
