sti vs ms3 vs ?
Koni ST Challenge was on today. Winning car was GTI, followed by Minis, and Civic Si's. Subarus, 330i's, and Miatas were behind these cars. FWD ain't that bad guys
As mentioned above, you just drive it differently.

ms3 and 06 STi...stock for stock driven by two of my good friends, STi is 2 cars quicker from a roll. from a dig it's annihilation in favor of the STi.
the ms3 is quick but in stock form the powerband is way too short

i raced an EVO X on the highway with my MS3 yesterday, we both have some bolt ons, when he tried to pull away with me 3 cars behind him I had to let off the gas or I was gonna touch him.

Again, learn how to drive. Would you go WOT with the wheel yanked in one direction in a S2000 mid corner? So why would you do it with a FWD car and complain about it? It's called adaptation, which people here seem to have no understanding of.
So because it's FWD and has more torque then 9 S2000's put together it's OK to whine about something as obvious as torque steer rather than using your right foot to suppress and control it. No it's not, more importantly why you'd be trying to manage torque steer on the street while hauling your kids around is beyond me. What I'm trying to say is the complaints about the car under the OP's circumstances are worthless.
Lastly, if this was a RSX we'd be talking about all the Honda fanboy's (75% of this site) would be drooling at the mouth with not a single complaint even though a MS3 is superior in every imaginable way. It pains me to say but a RSX also has torque steer.
When a thread involving that car comes up nobody mentions going WOT with the wheel turned and how horribly the car pushes or the wheel jerks back and forth. Sure it's more prevalent (TORQUE) in the MS3 but something to complain about given the platform and drive train? No.

The RSX doesn't have the power that the MS3 does. Chitty chitty torque steer really starts to show its head the more power the engine makes. Go drive a TL, same problem and I wouldn't buy either. Nobody is talking about strapping children in the back seat and going "yeeee haw!" with WFO turns to the grocery store. Where you get this escapes me.

that 63 month seems like a deal, but I wonder how it'll affect my ability to get a mortgage...

thats not been my personal experience. ill tell you right now that the cars are so close that its basically a drivers race from a roll, but more like a slight edge to the MS3. obviously from a dig it would be destroyed.

you can PM me if you don't want to take this thread off topic...
from what i understand a X with just a O2 back exhaust and tune makes 70-100whp from stock depending on fuel (91 vs. 93 oct), that's around 330-350whp on pump and about 10wtq less than the whp figure...not sure how much MS3s are making with bolt-ons. it's a lighter car but from a roll power is power, especially when the starting speed is higher.
the X is such a pig
my previous 29xx lbs subaru was quite surprising from a 2nd gear roll due to the weight/torque ratio...
I have no doubt in my mind that a stock MS3 will pull on an X no problem and be a drivers race with the current STi which is what I mentioned on the last page.
Although down on power it's FWD vs. AWD drive train loss means all 3 cars Dyno around the same amount of power except the MS3 is a little lighter.
With a Turbo Back and intake I think they are around 260-280WHP. Not sure what effects tuning have either but from a roll they are pretty quick.
Didn't Mitsu employ some tricks to try and hide the X's weight in comparison to the 8/9? Like a different final drive/shorter gearing, even still it's slow as hell stock but like you said wakes up when tuned.

oh i have no doubt that a stock X would get owned by a stock ms3...my car before a tune probably wouldn't be able to pull a prius...the AFR was so rich it bottomed out on the tail pipe sniffer during the baseline logs during the road tune

(9.xx)btw, I hope I didn't come across as arrogant. because I would much rather be driving an EVO X. Just so happens that a MS3's perfect playground is basically a highway roll.
edit: his mods were a simple intake and show off valve and test pipe.
I have a short ram, new bypass valve, upgraded top mount IC, and test-pipe. and some SSR comps which I didn't have on at the time.
but yeah, similar power, but my car weighs around 3070 lbs with the stock wheels and tires. and a stock EVO X weighs between 3500~3650 lbs or something.
