E46 M3 would be the logical move or E92 335i.

Also you can get an Evo 8, 9 or 10 for that price.

How do you like your Z06? Do you DD it, or is it your weekend go-fast toy? The idea of one appeals to me, but I'm a little concerned that it's interior refinement and day to day livability maybe a heavy compromise. Would you hesitate to run a 8 hour road trip in it?

Well, his other vehicle is an AWD truck, so I think he's good on the AWD.

Did you not look into a 335i? It was between that and my S, I think its obvious which route I went with.

youre not going to get a LS3 C6 for that price so I vote C5 z06. Or an s2000?
But the LS2 and LS6 make identical power and the C5 interior is pretty bad.
The c5z06 is a better/faster sports car, and personally i think it looks better. As for the interior, yeah its not great but

When I had it (for 4+ years) I loved it, and daily drove it. If you can ignore the interior, which is hard to do really, it's probably the best car I've ever owned next to the S. I switched out the seats with some suede Corbeau A4s and that spruced the interior up a bit, but the plastic trim by the radio and the shifter were starting to peel. It's surprisingly comfortable and I made a lot of runs to Los Angeles, San Diego, Salt Lake City, etc. Never once did I dread taking it on a trip like that. Of course I resisted lowering it on the stock bolts, unlike my friends. Their ride kind of went to hell once they did that.

It was a fantastic car, but like all great cars, the maintenance started really hurting the wallet, not to mention the tickets, and I was averaging about 14mpg the way I drove. I did once get it to 26mpg on a cruise controlled trip to L.A once though. If you need to know anything else, feel free to pm me.
