Infiniti QX4, MY 01 and after. I have one and it is very comfortable and has a very good price. The interior is very spacious, which I really like. I think i paid right around $37 for mine, that was without the Navi, but it is an available option, as well as a rear entertainment package.

And you might think if you really ever want to go off-road, as many of today's "SUV's" are built on a car unibody chassis, have little or no axle articulation, and have no low range. Assuming that's not an issue, some of the newer releases look very promising, including:
At the bottom, Huyndai Sante Fe looks like a decent ride at a bargain price.
Moving up, The Honda Pilot is nice, or the Acura MDX if you want even nicer on the same basic platform.
The new Toyota Four-runner looks promising, but somewhat small.
Moving upmarketm the new Volvo XC90 looks like a winner as well.
Acura MDX is the best buy, if you wanna scale higher, you could go BMW X5 (learn to like it!), or bling bling it in an escalade! or better yet, a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and beat an S2k with an SUV straightline!!
$ for $ the MDX looks like the best buy for the money, and the 2003 get a 20 hp increase to 260 hp. We (my family) looked at the MDX, X5, RX 300, and ML 430 (now ML 500). We thought the MDX was the best value, but got the X5 because it was the most car like in handling & ride. Also, they are offering some great deals on Jeep Grand Cherokees (Some places were offering $5000 off MSRP for new 2003's). The Overland edition is really nice. Mitsubishis were offering 0 down, 0% interest, and 0 payments until 2004 on their cars, don't know if it applied to Monteros. The new 4 runners are nice too. If it was my choice I probably would have gotten the MDX, best value or X5 4.4 (most sporty SUV).
Chevy Suburban, hands down. Truck frame, truck engine, truck roominess, with 4WD. Ford Expedition is a copy. You have choices on engine size, with enough engine you could tow anything, it is bigger than most of the SUVs out there if interior space is your thing, and they have been making them for what, a half century? They are kind of expensive, but they are the truck of choice for people who need a truck that can haul a lot of gear under cover, as well as carry 5 people easily. Very common on ranches out west. Try and haul sheep in an X5 or an MDX
Of course, if what you really want is a minivan that looks like a truck, get one of the German or Japanese imitators.

We own a Pilot and it's a great vehicle for us. Good looking, great performance, bulletproof reliability and fair price. Our Pilot is an EX-L. The only other options were NAV or DVD and neither one appealed to us.

Of course, I'm biased when it comes to HONDA!

I was suppose to replace my Toyota 4 Runner with the Acura MDX but went straight for the S2000! I wasn't going to buy the S until later but got it first! I still plan to get the MDX--go test drive it and see what the positive reviews are all about!
Did I mention you should get the MDX!
