swing arm question

So I've been seeing a lot of bikes lately (specifically hayabusas) with their swing arms extended out really far. Anyone care to tell me what the deal is w/ this? Thanks!

Drag bikes use long swingarms to keep the front wheels down. The longer the wheelbase the harder to wheelie but also hurts turn in ability. Alot of people do it for the look.
