i have seen both evo9 and sti on a dyno right after the other. 264awhp STI.......276awhp evo9. i know all cars arent the same but that pretty sorry. i have dring a bazillion sti's and evo..the feel the same out of boost to me. the sti does a have a HAIR more low end RESPONSE than the evo. subys are great cars....the sti is amazing...it just doesnt make the power it says it does. my good friend has an 04 STI with blitz catback and injen cai and i put 2 cars on him from a roll, it just gets worse on the hwy........

I actually have owned both....and stock for stock STi is faster then evo, with the 9 and mivec is closer but still quicker. Now I have a RSTi and that ran stock 12.6 no mods on the motor whatsoever(its 600 pounds lighter then Evo or STi).

I say wait for the EVO X and get style and speed (330+hp from the factory) all in one affordable package.

i work at a local mitsy dealer, in fact the number 1 evo dealer in the the country. we have 13-14 new evos on our lot. they are a awesome car! very nice review. it would be hard for a vette owner to get used to 2.0 inline 4 low end, but when boost hits, its addictive! its a great all around car, for fun and the family. much better than a STI!!!
what dealer? Is it the one on south tacoma way near south tacoma honda?

To clarify:
Cristople- No, my C5 is not my DD.

Sweeper- I will not be selling my C5. This car will be in addition to my C5- I'm selling my Jeep Cherokee DD.

The curb weight of a GTO is, IIRC, around 3700 lbs. The EVO MR was 3300, according to the salesman.
