Default Thinking about buying a TRD Solara

Hey guys, title pretty much says it all. The car looks immaculate. What do you guys think? These cars are supposed to be very reliable even with the added supercharger which only puts out 4 psi. It's a silver 01 with about 100k on it. I'm not too crazy about the rims, but I could sell those. Thoughts? They want 7k for it and won't budge, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get them down at least a little.

Wow, a supercharged camry from the factory. That's nuts.

What are you buying it for? I've never found them very impressive cars for multiple reasons. Its still slow with te SC, it only puts out 247 hp, its a four seater with two doors so its a pain to get stuff in the rear, and its fwd with bad torque steer and wheel spin.

For $7k, its rare, but not that special imo. Looking at prices, it actually seems less expensive than regular 01 Solaras with similar miles...

Looks like an Acura CL (and '90s American muscle sedan of sort).

i had a 2000 se v6 5spd in the exact color with the trd kit. i also added a trd short shifter, tokico struts and eibach springs. great car, imo. it won't out-run this and won't out-handle that, but it's a great looking cruiser car with good p/u. i'd recommend it. not sure how much they go for nowadays though.

I was going to buy it for a daily driver. It's between this and a 7th gen 4cyl Accord. I would get the V6 7th gen accord with the 6mt but I've heard awful things about the trannies.

Bigsley- I'm glad you chimed in here. How was the car around town? A pretty fun car you think? I'm not really looking for something with great handling, just a lot of low end torque to bop around town in and commute to work.

I like it more than I thought I would.

If you buy it debadge it, tint the windows and post pics.

If it was my money I'd look for a Maxima or maybe an IS300 instead.
