I have had 2 of these in auto and man, I loved it. Only issue I have with it is that is due for a body change any time soon. that style has been out for a while, but their resale values are still way up there.

Anybody know the hp rating on the IS430 that s supposed to come out ? If it is 300 hp like the current 430's in the Lexus line that would be kind've pathetic. Already the M3 has 333 hp, going to 375hp+ in the new V8 iteration, now people are saying the C32 AMG will be the C55 with 375 hp. If this is going to be there top of the line IS car it better come packing more than 300 hp.

I think a very appealing characteristic about the IS300 is that you don't need to use 91 octane to keep the power. If you are thinking of getting the auto, the button shifters are VERY responsive. The ratios on the manual are pretty small too.

the TSX is also another consideration. But in my opinion the IS300 is more sporty... The IS300 also cost more than the TSX.

I say go with the IS300

I have an 03 S2000 and an 03 IS300 E-Shift. I think the IS300 is a wonderful car sometimes even better than the S2000....then I drive my S2000.

I can't think of a thing to complain about the IS300.

Great engine - torque, and it's so easy to go fast in. There have been so many time I've gone WAY over the speed limit and thought I was driving too slow.

Great handling - I feel more comfortable going faster around this 1 mile stretch of twisty road I take everyday to and from work in the IS300.

Handsome styling - Clean lines that look good from ALMOST any angle. I think the German cars just look boring (i.e. 3 series, c-class...)

Ok I figured out my only complaint. It makes my decision of which car to drive difficult every morning.

I bough a is300 lexus in 2001 when they first came out I liked the car it was shop free for the 6 months that I owned the car. The back seat is a little tight for big people and the arm rest is a little low in the front other than that I could not complain about the car I also loved they gave you a lexus to drive if you ever had to take it to the shop. I sold it for a 99 porsche boxster with 9k miles and I wish I would have kept the is300 because my porsche had more problems than I ever could of imagined.

The last I read is the redesign will be 2004 in Japan, then make it here in 2005. Also heard rumor of a more powerful version before the next generation is introduced.
