Thanks for posting this, mulder. I absolutely love top gear, but honestly, I'm getting a little sick of it. It seems like they've been making more of these segments (like this week's caravan piece) that are all about james, richard and jeremy bitching to each other and being silly. The show has become less about cars and more about the three stars acting out little bits. For example, on this weeks caravan piece, what's the likelihood that their caravan would actually catch on fire and burn to the ground. It seems so preproduced and fake. Also, as funny as Jeremy is, he needs to stop being a whinny anti-american bitch (pardon my language). I'm by no means a flag waving american, but come on, the guy can't stop constantly complaining about america, etc. He just needs to shut up. It makes me wonder if he was molested by an american as a child or something.

On the flip side, I'm enjoying fifth gear more and more. Their segments are much more car-oriented and I love vicki's car showdowns. And as much as I enjoy jeremy's wit, I'm an even bigger fan of tiff's driving skills That guy rocks. Anyhow, just my 2 cents. What do you think?

Yeah fonzie is lining up for the shark jump with the three Top Gear dudes... If I wanted more chemistry I would watch the View.

Oh stop being so ego-centric, you ego-centric american

Jeremy often rips on america, france, britain, germany. I've never heard him make fun of the japanese....

Honestly, his views on america probably aren't far off from the average brit or european. The difference is, he hosts a show that close to a billion people see worldwide, so his voice is heard all over the world.

But I agree, this weeks episode was kinda hard to watch. It seemed staged, and I want more car reviews and tests.

Honestly, I'm not a flag waving american - I am not at all offended by anti-american sentiments. Often we deserve it (whether it be for political or automotive reasons). However, as someone who has watched about every episode of top gear in the last few years and has read many of Clarkson's articles in the times, I'm just starting to get annoyed. I have no doubt that many brits and europeans share his view, but the fact that he constantly brings it up and talks about is starting to get old. It's not the fact that he is anti-american that bothers me, but the fact that he is getting more and more so to the point that it's starting to be like beating a dead horse. Sure he quips about the french or talks about how silly he thinks the germans are, but when it comes to america, don't get him started. Jeremy is like a social robot. It's ok to make fun of the french. So he does it. It's ok to bitch about how horrible and fat americans are. So he does it. But it's not ok, for some reason, for a white guy to make fun of asians. So he doesn't. I'll stop myself now because this really shouldn't be a political thread. My point is...Fifth Gear is starting to become > than top gear. Just my two cents

wow, who cares.... the segment is funny regardless of being staged or Jeremy Clarksons views of Americans. People should stop worrying about what other people say or think so much and worry more about themselves.

Funny, though a bit convenient, but funny non the less. What started to bother me about top gear after a while is all the soap opera drama. It's not a car program anymore, more of a series of variety skits. Not bad from the standpoint of entertainment mind you, but with all the horsing about, its very hard to take their opinions about anything as anything but a setup for the next joke...

My thoughts exactly! Clarkson is a bit annoying, but this is my bigger complaint. I'm just sad that a great show is getting worse. But I seem to be a downer in this thread so I'll stop
