Track toy: Atom or Caterham
A Formula Continental/F2000 will pull 3G in corners as well. The F3 is very similar to the new FB/F1000 class coming up in SCCA right now.
I saw those Honda cars years back at Twin Ring Motegie (sp?). They didn't strike me as anything special. I think I would prefer a Formula Ford converted for 600cc bike power.
The nice thing about the F3 car as well as something like a Continental is they were designed to compete against other manufactures. That means that unlike a spec race car, if you get a good F3/F2000/F1000 etc you will generally get a well designed race car.
BTW, for those who might want a proper race car but aren't interested in spending F3 money, something like this

for $10k would be a great buy. Dave W on Apexspeed is a 7 time SCCA national champion. He has been racing since the early 70s and has driven cars from the lowly Formula Vee to a Mazda GTP car. He recently said the Zink Z-16 was the second best handling racecar he ever drove. Not a bad endorsement for a track toy that could be had for $10k.
Here are some FF performance specs from a 1984 R&T review of the Swift DB-1. BTW, the tires are better today than back then
