What's with Acura and their obsession with that Transformers grill?

I was originally dissapointed that Acura did not increase the horsepower on the new TSX, but then I realized that Acura is not targeting the "more power" demographic on this one.

They are targeting people that want a fairly inexpensive, near-luxury car and don't want to pay for the gas mileage of a V6 or V8.

With gas prices (especially premium) going north of $4 per gallon, that demographic will grow rapidly.

WTF?? "More power than ever" does not mean same HP as the prior model. Hmmm.. Misleading article and no mention of a Type-S with the RDX motor.

This is true, but it will be filled with diesel BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, Subarus, you name it.

It's looks like it has a huge dorky looking smile on it's face. Not impressed honda...
I actually thought the link was bad at first and it went to a new saturn....not honda.

And diesel Acuras. The TSX will have a diesel next year and Honda will introduce a diesel V6 in 2010. Already proven to get 50+ mpg in the Accord over there, so I'd expect no less than 43 mpg or so over here, with the tougher efficiency testing and bigger, heavier car.

wow, honda basically gave the tsx the s2000 nsx treatment. minor engine bump and changed the lights...but still same car.
Honda is becoming very predictable and boring with their cars. For a company that brags about its racing heritage it has very little to show for in terms of road cars

True, which makes the I-4 more of a throwback imo.

This is probably a topic for another thread, but since someone mentioned diesel... someone school me on what the big deal is?? I passed a gas station the other day that had diesel for $4.09/gal when premium was in the low $3 range.

It's expensive, the fuel quality sucks (frozen fuel anyone), and it isn't clean, and the engines are boring... wooo 4k rpm redline! I don't see a 10% improvement in mpg as enough justification for any of this.
