unfortunately, it has come down to this............
yeah but the C32 was bad enough for my wife.
it freaked her out in winter.......
another 100 or so hp, and she'll kick me out.
besides, my wife isn't in to cars......i'm on 2nd S2000 and she has no idea it's called an S2000.
S2000 = he drives a honda
C32 = we have a mercedes
S8 = we have an audi
this is what i'm up against.....

Ain't no baby support vehicle better 'n a minivan. Gotta admire 'em for doing what they're designed to do.
Your wife already knows the answer...either keep dad's minivan and get him whatever he wants or return dad's minivan and get another one. You probably know that's the ticket, too. As the babies grow up, minivans don't become less useful. Strollers get replaced by other things that take up space. Then there's added flexibility if your pax count, uh, increases.
A more fun choice? The new 2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon and Outback (US website) would be at the top of my list. A car that can inspire passion. A wagon for practicality. AWD for less than ideal weather. A driver's car. A great 2.5 turbo engine. Subaru's traditionally have excellent safety ratings, too. And Subies generally make a good impression on wives.

If it were me, I'd defer to the primary driver of the car. But not until after showing her the Legacy.

Every friend, turned parent and their wives that I have ever talked to would get a SUV and regret it because of toting the baby seat up & down. It wound up hurting many backs. I would suggest wait for the new Oddessy or maybe if you can get a great deal on a Chysler Pacifica if you feel you want something a little sportier.

E55 AMG Estate 4Matic?
If you're considering a sedan, may I recommend an Infiniti G35? My wife LOVES HERS! Plenty of power and torque, roomie, quiet, very comfortable, more interior goodies than you can shake a stick at. Plus the price is reasonable, quality/reliability is high, she gets "an Infiniti", etc.
