According to the review in C&D it is not easy to attain the 250+mph speed owing to the fact that the car must have the "top speed mode" engaged. To do that you must have the car fully stopped to begin with, and once driving if you turn the wheel more then 15 degrees off center or even breathe on the brakes it reverts back to one of the "lesser" driving modes.

There are MANY supercars and high end exotics with similar gas consumption.
And Ram Quad Cab pickups. Thats what my friends pickup gets, although 16 hwy might be pushing it.
