Viper
I have one.. Mine is a 99 GTS-
I would likely get yourself into a 96+ if possible. As somone pointed out, no windows, no AC, difficult top, ect..
I do the maintenance on mine. Oil changes require 8.5 quarts of Mobil 1 or equivalent. Not hard to do at all.
Brakes are brembos. I did them myself and they weren't that difficult to replace and not all that expensive.
Tires- yes, they are huge (335 rears). They can be expensive, but i have bought mine from other viper owners that buy to many. I just picked up a rear set (2 tires) for mine for 500 from another Viper owner. They are brand new. Otherwise, budget 500 dollars PER tire.
Insurance- I have mine insured as a collector car. I had to prove I had another daily driven car, but my insurance is just under five hundred a year.
Prices on Vipers- Mileage is the biggest factor. Once you get over the 30k mileage mark, the value goes down.
Color is another major factor. Red is the LEAST desireable. Blue with white stripes is MOST desireable. (generally)
Coupes are also more expensive than converts. Expect to pay at least a couple grand more for a nice coupe (GTS or later Coupes) than for the R/T or Convertible models.
If you have any additional questions, let me know.
