If I had the option of selling my S and getting a Viper/NSX/Corvette... believe me, I would be getting the Viper...

NSX has no wow factor, Corvettes are everywhere, even if they are good bang for buck... I don't care what the interior looks like. The S2k interior is pretty crappy in it own right.. I would jump all over a Viper.. (if the price was right)

You really do have to think about what you want this car for. If it is a weekend drive, or you work from home than great. If you plan to use this as an everyday car you really must think about this. I was thinking about a Viper before (in 01') vs. a 911. I test drove the car. It is massive in every way, dimensions, horsepower, presence. Damn near killed myself going around a corner, as the torque is massive, and if you are not careful, you go sideways. After about the 25 min. test drive I needed a bottle of Advil though as the drone was incessant. I wound up getting the 911. The soft top os a joke to use, and the hardtop panel is kind've ugly. Unless this is a 2nd car I would recommend against it.

I have been holding off on posting on this one, but here goes. After I owned my 2001 ACR for a year, both my wife and I missed the S2000. Almost every Viper owner I came across was an a$$. I did a few Viper drives, and they were no fun. Great, if you want people to treat you like you are rich...then get the Viper. If you want to have fun driving, then get an S2000. I absolutely hated the way people acted around me..."you must be rich", "how much did that cost", "what do you do for a living"...trust me it gets old. And if you want attention...or you need attention, then get the Viper. Please feel free to flame me, but you'll be wasting your time. By the way my avatar is still my old Viper...just haven't changed it yet. Do I regret buying the Viper...no...because now I know, and I will never make that mistake again. I am now searching for a replacement, just haven't decided on what to buy. It may be another S2000. I just wish the S2000 had more torque and/or power.

if this is your daily driver, dont do it

vipers are strong cars and they get attention but there is just something about them that reeks of crappiness from the exhaust note to the build

pull up to a movie theater in the nsx and you may get a couple people say "oh cool...ok lets go on with our lives now"

pull up in a viper and its like=

"wow! omg! so cool, viper!" (kids)
"damn i want to have sex with him! (chicks)
"damn my girl is about to leave me for that guy in the viper"(guys)
You're a total moron! No wonder you drive an SRT4, I suppose. Do you have an S? Maybe, maybe not, but you're a total moron for what you've said.

As for that Viper, the rear is fugly.

Yeah, that is the rub with a viper. when i test drove one a guy drove by me in a CRX and mouthed "F---er"......for no other reason then I wad driving a viper. Was that my fault, no. But, I also decided that I didn't want to have people look at me that way. To be honest the viper was fun and fast, but the S2000 now has 50k miles and has been a great daily driver/track car.

I agree with CarDude on this one. My friend is considering a used Viper vs. a new C6 Z51 convertible, price is about the same. While I love the performance of the car, I cannot stand the attention it gets, makes me uncomfortable. I'll get the C6 Z06 instead, more understated, just enough aggressive-ness for me from the spy pix. If you're an attention whore, the Viper is perfect. Also, the clown shoe analogy is appropriate.
