Default VW BlueSport concept

They better build it this time -- I'm getting tired of attractive light-weight mid-engine concept roadsters that don't make production. There's a little R8 in this one... I like it.

Looks nice - I wonder if it can be built to slot under the price of a Boxster or TT.

Using a 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission, the Concept BlueSport gets 54.7 mpg (US); punch the Eco mode button to get 57.36 mpg in city driving.

Holy Crap. VW should make this.

Very nice. I wonder if this will be used as a platform for a Porsche 914.

I'm unimpressed or hostile to about 99% of non-exotic car designs these days-- everything looks either bloated (American anything), baroque (Bangle, Lotus), pedestrian (Porsche) or just "meh" (370Z). Since the first production-S2000 pics came out, I can't really remember frothing at the mouth in excitement over the design of any sub-$100K car.

But this one looks fantastic. And I'm no VW fan. Hope it doesn't stray far from the concept if it makes production.

It's a little too cutsie looking, but given Honda's recent decisions, I guess we need to be thankful that anyone is still considering sports cars.

Nice. I can't say I love it...but I can't say I hate it either. Very sharp.
