Those turn signals are called semaphore turn signals since they are like flags. I started out with a '63 40 hp beetle in red. I'd love to have the '57 also.

Mine was a 4-door, maroon, 170 c.i, I6, three-speed manual, or as we called it a three in the tree as the manual shifter was on the column.
Mine was a 4-door but this is the best pic I can find, you get the idea...

Some may laugh, but this is what I had in college, and of all my old cars this is The One I would most like to have back.

a very tired 1957 chevy 4 door 210 model with 3 sp ....then a 1958 chevy 2 door del ray, converted to stick, massaged engine with duntov cam, 283 v8, it was also a mess but it was fast and burned alot of oil.
i paid for all of this with my jobs after school, weekends and summers.
