What would you buy with $300k?
This is a mundane thread. Feel free to ignore it. The question has been asked before. But a couple of new cars have come out in the meantime that make my updated list. And the price limit is lowered to the point that some of the picks might be affordable. I'm interested to see what people would pick for each niche.
Rules:
$300k for your household vehicles.
New or used is fine.
Any number of vehicles is fine.
Cars only, no boats or bikes.
Try and find a representative vehicle for relative price accuracy if bored.
You CANNOT COUNT YOUR CURRENT VEHICLES UNLESS YOU ADD THEM TO THE COST!
Truckity Truck:
2003 G55 AMG with 34k miles: $49,900
All Weather Beater:
2007 Subaru WRX Sti Limited with short shifter and a couple other options, NEW: $35,553
Work Car (Me):
2007 BMW 335 coupe with pretty much every option, NEW: $52,720
Fun Car:
2006 Porsche 911 C2S cabrio with 3,300 miles: $82,900
Work Car (Wife):
2006 BMW M5 with 5,000 miles: $77,900
=$298,973...... still have $1,000 for gas.
It took me a couple tries and had to leave a few cars off the list... like an E55, S4 avant, Elise, Cayman.....

911TT- $145,000
Ford GT- $150,000
$5,000 for 6 months worth of insurance on them.
I guess that about eats it up.

Boxster S= $70k
Range Rover SC=$100k
E55 AMG=$85K
Ferrari 328 or Porsche 930=$45k
The first three are pretty standard parts of my dream garage; the last $45k would be my floater toy, and would probably change on a whim. Today's whim happens to be "Ferrari weekend car" or "Porsche 930." A well-built FFR would be in the running too.

I'd get a couple really nice diddies like a used F355, GNX, and/or NSX, and then a nice daily driver. I don't want to blow all $300k on the cars and then have nothing left over to cover their operation. I'd get 2 or 3 at most.

You said nothing about no trailers...
I think this will do, if there is any money left I'll spend it on gas at the track...
