I'm so done w/ black cars, never again! (& TX heat makes them that much worse) Besides, I've already struck a deal on the red one in the pics I posted, and hope to bring it home on Saturday.

Anybody want to buy an S2000 w/ lots of goodies on it?

Where did I say I was tired of the S2K? Au contraire, I love it, but life is too short not to try other experiences, and I've thoroughly enjoyed 6 years of S2000 ownership (w/ an '01 and my current '03). I'm coming into some extra money via some expiring stock options, and the money is burning a hole in my pocket. Both my wife and I found the Cayman S to be very, very impressive, to the extent of being hard to find fault w/. It has all the performance of the S2000 and then some, but is a lot more livable...quieter (but w/ a symphonic engine note), better ride, lots of extra luxuries/safety gear, and plenty of torque (please don't bother suggesting I get gears for my S!).

Keeping my S isn't out of the question (I hope I can make it work), but it probably won't make sense financially esp. since I'd have to store it ~100 miles away. Anyway, it's not a done deal, and I'm probably jinxing myself by posting about it. Austin was shut down yesterday, and may not return to normal till ~Thursday, and I still need to get financing arranged. I just hope I can do it quick enough that the deal doesn't slip away!

If you get a Cayman, can you get one without the Bose?

Some of us MA enthusiasts are not fans of their speakers and hope manufacturers go elsewhere (like to Focal).

There are 3 stereos available in the Cayman:

base
Bose
PCM (Nav), which seems to be non-Bose but not sure

I'm not a Bose fan either, but apparently it sounds better than base and is good for resale value.

"No highs, no lows, must be Bose!"

The Bose in my Avalanche isn't great, but it's better than I expected, and could be a lot worse. I have Focals in my S2000, and agree it would be awesome if they could break into the OEM market.

every carnut should have a porsche at least once in their lives...i don't think this is the one to own if that is the case...i would opt for the practical and less expensive to operate M3...and i lust after another 911 and a m3 myself. hard choice, ask your heart what to own and practice saying i own a caymen and i own a bmw m3...see which one feels better.
