What Would You Get?
Hmm...very tough choice (if the Legacy is Spec B)....Both are great cars and good in their own ways.
I'd probably give the edge to the Infinity for it's refinement and timeless styling

beware, they have a lot of electrical issues, but you will probably get them before warranty expires.

Hmmm, good tip, thanks!
I'd pick the legacy just for the price difference. I have the turbo wagon myself, but the downside is something goofy about the ecu makes some cars have seriously lumpy acceleration while many others do not. Nobody can seem to explain why.
Its cured and adds more torgue with a Cobb accessport and new fuel program. Thats what I had to do to mine but it added $600 although the extra power is more fun. But it takes 10 minutes to flash a map with the accessport and you have to flash back to stock map every time you take it back to the dealer to make sure not to void warranty. If you really want to modify you can add another $600 for a Cobb downpipe and then use a stage 2 map that brings the power up to near 300 hp and 300 ftlbs, about the same as the 2.5 engine puts out in STi trim.
Gas milage is better with the Cobb too. I drive sedately and get 26-27 in mixed driving. Drive it hard and its about 23. In the winter, gas milage drops a lot and I only get 21 buts its really cold up here and runs super rich until its warm.
Other than that I like the car and have had no problems for the first 18,000 miles except for a minor recall. Mine is an 07.

I was in a similar situation recently although I shopped used cars. After driving both I chose the G35x (auto only). To me this car felt much tighter than the legacy. Stylng of the legacy was a downer as well. I really wanted to like the subaru but the G35x won me over. I just bought a Thule rack for it and will be installmg it soon. To me this is my beater and will carry me MTBing to skiing.
