Maybe it's my advancing age, but I'm a little confused. Why do many so-called "car enthusiasts" on this board hate any sporty car other than the S2000? I bought an S because it suited me best. I found it to be the best pure sports car bang-for-the-buck. Having said that, I still like to look at and would love to drive many of the cars available today. 350Z, Z06 (or any Vette), M3, Z4, Boxster, 911, G35, RX8, RSX-S, and on and on and on. Hell, I even like Mustangs!
These days are a car lover's dream! Remember the cars from the mid-seventies? Boring!

A lot of it is arrogance on the part of those other car owners. They cut down the S and say it's "only a Honda". However, some of the S owners here are no better and I am tired of reading how much better their S is than a __________. Can't we just enjoy the car without cutting down others?
Dario - I don't think it's so much of arrogance as it is trying to justify and/or validate their purchase. If the S2000 is the "best", then they have made an excellent decision. If it's not the "best", then they have made a bad decision. Woodson has it right though - There is no "best" car, but the S2000 suited him the best.
I use to be a street rodder, and the same thing happened there. The rodders would bash each other because somebody would build a car differently. I guess its just human nature. I'm like you are, I like cars just because their cars. It doesn't matter what kind they are.

Son of Wood,
I would guess that often people try to spark a little debate with unkind remarks about other cars. You may also notice it is often the same members who like to bash. In the past year or so, the used S2K values have really dropped, resulting in the more immature crowd joining the ownership ranks. To some, this is the greatest car they have been able to afford in their short little lives. This seems to spark a lot of passion without much thought.
