I would guess the s2000 would beat the ferrari..... S2000 has such quick steering and nice tight gears. I would guess those ferrari's did not.

How about a CRX si vs a 308 Ferrari?

I don't think it will. At least (I think) the 348 is faster (especially top speed).

I'd have to believe the 348 was more on par with the 3rd gen RX-7 or first gen NSX (that is faster than the S2000).
Are you sure the 3rd gen RX-7 and 1st gen NSX are faster than a 04 s2k in stock trim? I might bet on the s2k...

You would take the CRX cause it would still be running buy the end of the first lap.

I love the 308 styling/layout /price everything, but I still own a replica of one for the simple fact that I don't trust the factory ones. My next door neighbor owns a local Ferrari dealership and we were comparing stories about how we used to both use tin foil when a fuse would die on you for no apparent reason.

I might be tempted by a 348 on day but would muich rather be driving a 355 convertable. Don't really understand the attraction to the current 360/430's but would take any of the 12 cylinder cars in a heartbeat.

AAHHHHH HHHHAAAA!

look who's here!

Told ya, 348s are low 13 second cars to mid 13 second cars. S2000s, while awesome cars, struggle to get into the 13s.

To turn the heat up a bit, whats a supercharged S2000 run, 13.5ish?

That's a gorgeous yellow NSX (above)! A 15 yr-old design still looks incredible.

Look at the 911's steering wheel! I know it was in '90, but wow! That has got to be the ugliest wheel ever. Other cars in the early '90's didn't have such ugly wheels.

From what I've read, there were issues with the 348 in its handling, enough so that the 355 was considered a HUGE improvement. However, I've never driven one, so I wouldn't know for sure...

I think you could come up with a lot of different situations that would would make either superior to the other:

1 - drag race - 348?

2 - canyon run - s2000?

3 - Strip Bar Valet race - 348

4 - 15,000 mi service bill defibrilator relay - s2000

5 - Key ring and matching logo polo shirt competition - 348

6 - Stuck in the rain and the power windows won't go up slalom - s2000

BTW - I added "?" because in my particular situation, I could have the superior ride and probably get beat by a better driver

car and driver magazine - sept 1991 - Ferrari 348ts -

0-60 - 6.0 seconds
0-100mph - 15.3 seconds
Qtr mile - 14.5@99mph
0-120mph - 23.7 seconds

top speed 166mph
braking 70-0 - 187 feet
skid pad .90 (on crappier tires)

Hope that helps.....unless it was extremely hot for this test, the S2000 pretty much wins everywhere except for top speed, but who really cares about that?
