I'm not sure why I would give two shakes about "interior quality" when all I get is a drive

I'd rather drive a coupe than a vert but if you make me choose, I figure I can beat the living crap out of the Boxster for a day and return home alive.

That's a different thing than "which car would you own." But that decision would be made after a drive anyway.

I would get the coupe with the targa top over the vert, but GS all they way. The only instance that I would take the boxster is if it was a very small, tight road where the GS would feel too big. I have ridden in several c6 vettes. (base, z06, and zr1) (too bad it was wet for the zr1) All three rides were at the track, and I can say that the power that all three of them made was amazing. I rode in them in the order that I listed them, and I can say that the ~430hp in the base vettes is more than enough. They seemed to handle very well, and seemed to break traction very smoothly. It is not very often that I have sat in the right seat, and felt comfortable with a driver that I have never driven with getting sideways coming out of a fairly fast corner.

I would imagine that a GS would handle like a z06, and have the power of the base. If that were true, I would love to have a GS.

Oh and the manual with the coupe is a must... Why would you go auto, and lose out on the dry sump engine???

Oh and anyone voting Boxster has not ridden/driven a c6. They are nasty quick, and the interiors are not nearly as bad as people would have you believe. The new ones are at least as nice as any s2k I've been in.

Leather seats in both, carpet in both, various buttons, majority of dash and console are plastic...

Though the leather does possibly look better on the s2k seats, but I'd have to see them both next to each other in person.

The Boxster is a dull and uninspired design, far too much like a 901, a car designed some 50-years ago

The interior looks way less than exciting

I voted C6 GS for sure

I see it as one offers status, the other offers performance, I prefer performance, say what you will, I'm just so totally not a Porsche fan

^The new Boxster's are still really good. A Boxster s on good tires and a good driver is going to be nearly as quick around a track as a base vette. They are both great cars, I have just been lusting after v8's lately.

And so were thousands of people at LeMans this past weekend

Olivier Beretta won for the sixth time at the Le Mans 24 Hours

Oh look, there is a little P-car behind them...

i really respect the C6 for what it is. I prefer the porsche b/c I like small roadster. The P badge - if I was single and whatever, I'd use it as a chick magnet, but now I'm all grown up, and not single, and well don't need that.

I think "the little P-cars" still have the most wins there though.

At least according to the ultimate racing authority, wikipedia...

Believe me, I have been around racing a looooooong time, I know
Porsche has an incredible, downright awesome racing history, they have accomplished lots and lots of amazing victories
But for me, it always boils down to their design
Lots of people don't agree with me, but that's ok
I think Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear said it best, Porsche has the laziest design studio in the world
Does a 1962 Ferrari 250GTO look like a new 2011 458 Italia? No.
Does a 1958 Corvette look like a new 2011 C6? Nope.
Does a 1963 901 look like a new 2011 911? Yup, sure does...
