but the old 986 really sucked compared with my S2000, the 987 is really a huge leap ahead of the old platform.

and boy they were young...

 

but you still miss your old S sometimes, don't cha?

 

so while the other 2 cars have moved on with newer, better models, we're stuck reminiscing of the glory yrs.

sigh. Still a great bit though.

Every single review for the first 3 years the S2000 came out had it dominating the Z3 and Boxster (Which is the reason why you quickly saw them respond with the boxster S and Z3 M)

 

I'm pretty sure the Z3M was out well before the S2000. It was released in 1998. Power was not where the Z3 was found lacking; it was in the handling. The real answer to the S2000 was the Z4, I think.

 

^ Yet the Z4 felt pretty bad compared to the S2000. Only the M was the better machine.

 

The competition had greatly improved while the S withered and died.
