Very affordable at $425K.
Probably not that much, considering it's always a lot less than the straight conversion, but still an incredible amount of money. Then again, it's a club racer car, not a street car.

I love how Autoblog confused everybody into thinking that this is a streetcar by posting the street version's pic on the article. This is no Z4 M...

This isn't a club racer, they are talking about a racecar.

The 911 GT3 or GT3 RS production cars are beefed up production cars that just happen to be named after a race series. It would be like if they came out with a Corvette World Challenge edition, NSX JGTC, or a Ford Taurus Nascar special edition.

The 911 GT3 production car is not built to race in the actual FIA GT3 series. It would only be competitive in the GT4 series (or equivalent) or a club racing series.

The 911s that race in the FIA GT3 series are 911 GT3 Cup cars or Cup S cars. They share the same basic platform and similar namesake, but they are quite dissimilar in performance.

The reason that I say all of this is because people are way too familiar with the 911 GT3 moniker and they know too little about the racing class behind the name.

The car mentioned in the article is not meant to be a production car that will compete in production car terms with the 911 GT3. It is a body in white racecar that will actually be built for the GT3 (or equivalent) series.

This is made more confusing by the fact that they had that M3 GT3 prototype that they showed a few months ago. That actually would be analogous to the 911 GT3 production car, both of which are actually suited for the GT4 class.

Deliveries begin in the second quarter of 2010, with an estimated price of 298,000 euro

Great. I'd love to get this Z4 over a Ferrari or Lambo (or both). </sarcasm>

Just a standard Z4M with the M3's v8 would be fine.
