How is the M3 getting hosed? Why on earth would the engine from a 300,000 euro club racer be in put into circulation in $50k USD M3s?

I don't know why BMW doesn't put the M3 engine into a Z4 and sell it to the public. How will it cannibalize sales? M3 is a 2+2 and the Z4 isnt.

My M3 is no 2+2, it's a perfectly comfy 5 seat sedan. Even the coupes have rear seat space beyond the typical def. of +2.
