no doubt, stangs are about as aerodynamic as a moose.

In my opinion, they have dialed in enough down force for it to stop accelerating at that speed. 650hp should be enough for 220mph or so.

Actually they are about as aerodynamic as a chest freezer! With the door open!

Actually drag is usually the primary factor in top speed...

Power can always overcome drag and vice versa.

It's the chicken or the egg thing....

That's not lift...if you want lift drive an 03/04 Cobra on stock suspensionat 140+, it's pretty close to scary. I once took the Cobra and M3 out back to back on mid triple digit pulls and the difference was astounding. The Cobra felt like a cross wind would put you in a ditch and the M3 felt like I could take my hands off of the wheel and have a burger and fries.

sure it can but it'll need more and more power to overcome drag (drag is dependent on velocity squared). Thats why it only takes ~150hp to go 150mph but it takes nearly 1000hp to go 250mph.

You're giving this test driver (who probably has more high-speed experience than you x 1000) crap for glancing down at the readout instead of keeping his eyes on the road? What do you think he had to worry about grandma pulling out from the grocery store parking lot?
