paddle shifters no fun...yeh thats suppsedly what it will be from some...but I dunno EVO IX is so hard to improve on and just passes test of time. Engine bulletproof, so easy to mod, just a classic EVO look, stock is 4.4 -4.5 0-60 and high 12 1/4 with trap of 106-108 ahh I luv this car the more I read... The EVO X will probably be close or match those #s but its going to be more geared toward massses. EVO IX, can you till I cant wai tuntil the end of summer

this is tough........the next gen g35 production will be displayed wednesday and will show the powerplant which should be the same as the couple which wont be out until late 06 early 07.....if its a nice large bump then might have to wait.......then again new STI completely redesigned comes out next year........and a blue/white/silver EVO IX is still calling my name

At least I'l find out wed if I do g35 or not

How would a EVO hold up as a track day car?

george - if they aren't modified too much they are just fine. Lots of guys on the Evo board have driven thousands of track miles.

once you turn the boost way up and lean it out, etc.... all kinds of shit goes wrong, fairly quickly.

This may require further investigation.

despite all of the idiots who post about how horrible evo reliability is.......

I had the first 03 in the area...i kept it over 2 years, drove it 23k miles of torture and had nothing other than an o2 sensor go bad and one of my hoses under the hood popped off (which apparenty is fairly normal for a turbo car).

i took it to summit, JC course and beaverun (ran a 1:08.2 100% stock in a time trial.... the same day the best Honda Challenge car did a 1:05.5....)....

I drag raced it 3 different times at the strip (13.4@102 mph even with lifting between shifts)

and i auto-x'd it 3 times with the Porsche Weenies (i beat all of them twice and finished 2nd one time).....

My clutch finally died at 17k miles, but I had done about 50 full power launches (6000-7000rpm) so it was expected.

I had it dynoflashed about a year after i got it, but stock otherwise...... I have been debating about swapping my cobra for an MR (or c6 vette).
