Target Weight: 1200kg to 1300kg (2650lbs to 2866 lbs) depending on the "Type" variation.
Example in the article: Ferrari F430 is 1460kg (3219lb)
Concept Considered: HSC with a improved and enlarged C32B Block; a 3.6 liter V6 which produced between 350 to 400PS depend on the tuning of the engine: Final phase of the HSC accomplished 0-60 in 4 seconds and

very interesting read. although if honda is aiming the gen2 nsx's performance to compete with the current f430 and gallardo, then by the time the nsx debuts in 3-4 years a f430/gallardo replacement will be in the horizon, and the nsx will once again be left behind. honda needs to anticipate what the competition will be like 3-4 years from now and design the nsx accordingly, which means a 5.0L 500hp v10 motor may be insufficient 4 years from now.

one of my favorite quotes is this: "By the time the Neo NSX is ready for production, 500ps will be common between most of the manufactures." Are they saying it will be a while?
Another choice quote: "The only way to get more PS is to build bigger engines." Huh, who'd a thunk?

"Honda would like to win the F1 title before the premier of the new NSX, that is why the target release date is set

This is a bit disappointing to me, actually -- this all sounds cool and all, but I'd much rather see a 911-fighter at a sub-911 price (e.g. a car that some reasonably well-heeled middle class types could afford) than a F430-fighter at a sub-F430 price (e.g. a car that very few people will be able to afford).
Basically, I'd be more excited about an S2000++ than some fanciful supercar, cool V10 or not.

Build it and they will come (even Stevec)!
Anyway, it sounds very interesting on what Honda'll do, and hopefully, it'll build one fantastic supercar soon to improve its sporting image. Honda's been one of the best engine builders for many years (supplier of race engines), so it's truly shameful if it doesn't have a fantastic supercar with a fantastic engine in its car lineup.
