Target Weight: 1200kg to 1300kg (2650lbs to 2866 lbs) depending on the "Type" variation.

very interesting read. although if honda is aiming the gen2 nsx's performance to compete with the current f430 and gallardo, then by the time the nsx debuts in 3-4 years a f430/gallardo replacement will be in the horizon, and the nsx will once again be left behind. honda needs to anticipate what the competition will be like 3-4 years from now and design the nsx accordingly, which means a 5.0L 500hp v10 motor may be insufficient 4 years from now.

This is a bit disappointing to me, actually -- this all sounds cool and all, but I'd much rather see a 911-fighter at a sub-911 price (e.g. a car that some reasonably well-heeled middle class types could afford) than a F430-fighter at a sub-F430 price (e.g. a car that very few people will be able to afford).
Basically, I'd be more excited about an S2000++ than some fanciful supercar, cool V10 or not.

Build it and they will come (even Stevec)! 
Anyway, it sounds very interesting on what Honda'll do, and hopefully, it'll build one fantastic supercar soon to improve its sporting image. Honda's been one of the best engine builders for many years (supplier of race engines), so it's truly shameful if it doesn't have a fantastic supercar with a fantastic engine in its car lineup.
