No they're not just all C6's. That's like saying the 599XX is just another 599.

I didn't claim you stated that the Genesis was "all that". Quit trying to play the literal game. You clearly said both the inline 4 and V6 Genesis models were "wonderful" right before you went on to say that Ford was the only American company making "good...not great" cars. You had to stress good under great while at the same time implying they were many levels below your "wonderful" criteria. In my eyes that is the equivalent of saying that the Genesis is all that compared to its lowly American counterparts. Which is of course a ridiculously biased opinion, but one you're clearly entitled to.
C6 states what generation they are. Therefore ther're still "just" C6's. They are different trim levels but the ZR1 and ZO6 are not C7's or C8's.... they are "just" C6's. Good talk.

C6 base
C6 ZO6
C6 ZR1

The only thing from GM that could possibly end up in my driveway is a Corvette and/or the 2011 Cruze (rebadged Deawoo Lacetti). As for Chysler, I cant think of a car they make that is worth anything. Ford is the only company that didn't take the money from the government. If you look at current reliability of all 3 of there lineup's Ford is the only one consistently good. I'm not a Ford guy by any means, but they do make good cars.

Compared to 95% of the American made cars, the Genesis is wonderful.

The Cruze isn't exactly a rebadged Deawoo. The old Aveo was just a rebadged Deawoo. The new car was largely engineered by what used to be Deawoo but remember it was done as a GM project with corporate goals and objectives. You aren't really wrong but some people might take that to imply it's similar to the Pontiac Vibe which really was a Toyota through and through with some Pontiac stuff on it. The Cruze was created and engineered entirely within the GM empire.

BTW, that wasn't meant as anything other than a clarification.

isn't 470hp/4200 lbs = 238hp/2100lbs
ie. a S2000 engine in a Lotus
I would call that fairly competitive.
Please tell me you're not serious.

The Mustang has gotten progressively better & I was a big fan of the 69-70 Mach 1's which I think they based their design on. Though the Challengers I think look awesome. 425 hp WAS thought to be powerful, but as alluded to that was before the 426 hp Camaro & 412 Mustang, along with the Challenger's 4200 lbs. 470 hp sounds like it will make it competitive but it is a good $10,000-$12,000 more than the Mustang. While it is bigger that is a tough pill to swallow.

It means the thread should end....

IMO, the post I quoted pretty much summed up the best points of the argument on both sides, so I think to go any further would be like

IMO only of course

I think it is interesting how quick we went from...

Hyundais are crap, and always come in last!!

to

See!! The 412hp Mustang V8 beat the Hyundai!!

Hyundai has simply undergone an unbeliavable turn around in an incredibly short period of time.

Stopped at the Ford near my office today on lunch... saw this...

I have to say, the interior of this car is astonishing for being a Mustang/Ford. Def. kicks the competition's ass... including the 370Z, which is much better than the Genesis.
