I think it does count though. this is number of incidents (trips to the dealer for repairs) per 100 cars. I would expect that to count recalls.

I guess that would depend on the person answering the questionnaire. If it states did you need to bring the vehicle back for something beyond normal service, you'd have to answer "yes" for a recall, wouldn't you? Remember this is based of questioning of owners. How many owners would consider a recall a preventative measure and not a nuisance?

dan,

on the flip side, how many people react to recalls b/c they ARE a nuisance?

my dad's had a recall on his 05 E500....still o/s....and i think it has to do with brakes.

he's like, "whatever"......i'll get it done when i get it done.

what is he going to write down in the box "how many times have you taken it for something beyond normal service", when he hasn't taken it in yet?
