Default £20-30k coupe

Coupe or convertible really, but considering a change from the S, amybe tail end of the summer...there seemed only 1 obvious choice and that a flat 6 in the boot, but then i stumbled over this little gem...

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1573976.htm

Is the Maser a true contender for the the Porsche? at circa £30k these seem like good value and the thunder that comes from the tail pipes has to be admired!!

I'm sure its less 'involving' than the porsche and not so keen to be hussled, but for road driving, looks like a contender?

Anyone had any experience of a Maser, am i looking at Ferrari-esque running costs (if so that would stop any further thoughts in their tracks) as the relative running costs of a porsche are pretty low...(relative being the operative word..).

Any thoughts / comments welcome.

Phil.

i've considered all those...

Z4M - not special enough for me if shelling out £30k
CaymanS - right up there with the competiton
996 Turbo - couldn't live with the interior unfortunately, looking 10 years old and more now....

what do you make of the gransport? for me it looks superb, sounds superb and has far more 'appeal' in being a Maser than a porker in terms of exclusivity etc.

Cant think of anything better for that kind of money than a Cayman s.
A 996 C4s or 993 2s would be my other choices along with an M3 CSL and Z4MC.
Are the Massers running costs huge?
Im not sure about costs but a A5 deisel may suit or 335 or 135?
