I've tried 100+ rons in europe. Doesn't work so well for NA cars. Works better for turbos. Dependent on the car it can do no use as they car isn't mapped for the petrol.
If the car isn't mapped for 100+ RON, it makes no difference whatsoever.
In fact on many cars, once the ECU has retarded the ignition for 95, it doesn't bother advancing it again, so you're stuck with a map for the lowest RON fuel you've used until you reset the ECU.

That's true for cars such as old Imprezas (the fabled ecu reset to regain performance...)
Modern ECUs have adaptive ignition timing and can advance ignition timing given higher ron fuel. It's done for emission purposes but of course has the happy side effect of more power.
