Default chipping...does it work?

Hi everyone,
Ive just herd on my local radio station an advert for a company that claims to chip cars and its improves performance AND mpg, for ANY car!
Now i know this will probably be true with some old diesels, but im wondering if anyone knows if it works in the S, and if the improvement would actually be worth while.
Marc

It can / does, but I would be very careful which product you go for.

Some of them are very crude, and the ECU can learn around them... The ECU has fuelling tables and all sorts of feedback from sensors, and will pick up on changes. A remap is the only real way to get around it, or just reset the standard one very regulalry. No remap option exists for the S2000 AFAIK. There are plenty of piggyback chips though.

I have had ECU mapping done on nearly every car i've owned, and the power gain comes from a bit of leaning out of the mixture. You always get better MPG because of this.

Who was it out of interest? Mike Stoke's I presume!
